Privacy policy

In plain English

We collect the minimum we need to sell you papers and run tutoring: your name, email, and booking details. Card payments go straight to our payment provider, and we never see your card number.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t send marketing you didn’t ask for.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how OnTask Education (ABN 42 365 514 409) (“OnTask Education”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It covers this website and the products and services sold through it.

2. What we collect

  • Purchases and accounts: your name and email address, your order history, and the paper library attached to your account.
  • Tutoring bookings: the student’s first name, year level, the subject and any notes you choose to give the tutor, plus the booking contact email.
  • Enquiries: whatever you include in a contact-form message or phone call, and the details we need to reply.
  • Technical data: standard website logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) used for security and to keep the site working.

Payment card details are never collected by us. Payments are processed by Stripe on their own secure systems; we receive confirmation of payment, not your card number.

3. Why we collect it

  • to deliver papers you buy and maintain your download library;
  • to arrange, deliver and manage tutoring sessions;
  • to respond to enquiries and provide quotes for teacher services;
  • to send transactional email: receipts, sign-in links, booking confirmations;
  • to meet our tax and record-keeping obligations; and
  • to keep the site secure.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not send marketing email unless you have asked for it.

4. Who we share it with

Only the service providers that make the site run: our payment processor (Stripe), our transactional email provider, our hosting and database providers, and, for tutoring, the tutor delivering your session, who sees the booking details you provide. Some providers store data outside Australia; we choose providers that meet recognised security standards. We disclose personal information beyond this only where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as tax law requires. Your account and library persist so you can re-download your papers; you can ask us to close the account and delete what the law doesn’t oblige us to keep.

6. Security

Data is stored with reputable providers, encrypted in transit, and accessible only to the people who need it to serve you. Download links are private to your account.

7. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or complain about how we’ve handled it, via the contact form or by phone on (08) 6118 0600. We’ll respond within a reasonable time. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

8. Changes

We’ll update this policy as the site grows (for example, when online tutoring booking launches) and change the date above whenever we do.
